Oh yeah, one more thing. I've been getting out a little more, with hats only, I really want to get over worrying about being looked at, so I just decided to get out and look back with a smile. Chad ordered some hats and accessories for me the other night. I feel better about being bald. I'm sure it will get easier with time. I'm just glad it's not in the middle of summer. I'd rather be a little cold and double up in hats if i need to than be hot and sweaty with a hat. I really try to be positive, thanks to my kids, I never used to be, in those oh so depressing, thought I had nothing to live for, teen years. My kids will be more positive about life than I was, because I am showing them how to overcome all obstacles, with a smile.

You are doing great with your attitude and remember it is ok to say that some days just suck- sigh- becasue tomorrow is always a new day-
I wish hats were really more in as I do like wearing them even though I do have hair - I still do but nice ones are hard to find.....mind you, not the ones my mom wore as she had to use hat pins and they would be painful on the bald head--LOL
keep on posting and smiling
I am praying for you -

Hi Stacy,
You're a real "BraveHeart" to a be model for your kids. These days will be over soon, you'll back to your normal life.
Just a small note, wear a daily make-up even though you feel so tired. A small touch of eye shadow and blusher will be big difference when you look at the mirror.
I'm sending you all my positive thoughts from thousands miles away.
Rengin, in Istanbul

Stacy,
Sorry you have joined the sisterhood of the beast. You will eventually figure out how you are comfortable, but it will change. I did not take chemo, but plenty of my friends have. Anytime you need to talk come to No Surrender, there is a circle there.(link on my blog) Praying for you.

Amazing how brave kids are, and how much pride as a mom you gain during the battle.

So glad you are doing well, Stacy!!!! I'm right there with ya, just a few chemos ahead of you. I got a few chemo hats on Ebay -- the cotton, fabric type that tie in the back. They sure are comfortable! It's true, though, that most people who see me know right away I'm a "chemo patient". Has some advantages ---- they often let me ahead of them in a checkout line!!!! I've gotten used to the looks, so much so that once I almost went out forgetting my hat!!!! I haven't dared to do that yet.

Funny that you mentioned about staying positive for your kids and teaching them that. My sister mentioned that to me just yesterday -- that I DON'T have children and it makes a difference. I can whine and complain because there are no children there to keep it all from. She also learned early in raising her son that you just bottle up those thoughts and feelings in order to keep your children feeling safe, secure, and that tomorrow will be better.

Remember, you are always in my thoughts and prayers. I don't go back again til Dec. 3 for my last chemo, and then probably surgery sometime after that.

Keep smiling!!!!!

Cora
